Mexican Lady By The Well~Messanger or retailer Tote Bag with small accessory zip bags included 13"x13.5"

Taking old fabric and giving it new life is what I did to create this purse. The old Mexican table runner was about to be discarded and I have given it new life :)

The green cotton/polyester fabric provides a soft and lovely background to the hand embroidered scene of a Senorita sitting by a well with her pots waiting to be filled. She is lovely and due to her age has a few missing threads. If you look closely at photo #3 you will see the bottom of her skirt is worn with years of use. I have taken this panel and ironed on Pellon interfacing to the back to prevent and further loss. I find this a charming part of working with vintage fabrics, and hope you see this as an asset not a flaw. The sleeping man will become a new purse soon. (photo #5)

The purse measures 13.5"tall and 13"wide. It is fully lined with matching green fabric, two pockets and has sturdy interfacing also added. It closes with a zipper and has some of the trim from the table runner as a lovely addition to the top of the bag. Included with the purse are two retailer accessory bags that are also fully lined and zip closed. They also have a bit of interfacing and some of the lovely trim. They measure 6"x8" and 5"x7". A polyester strap, measuring approximately 45" is added to the top of the purse.
