A place where I hike is usually sunny. But one day it was shrouded by fog and everything looked different, very magical.
This is a limited edition print, etched onto a zinc metal plate, and hand printed on my etching press. Print area is about 6 x 4.5 inches, paper measures 11 x 9 inches. Each print is signed by the artist, numbered and is an original and unique piece of art.
I printed the edition on three different papers; one with Somerset Textured White (images 1-5), Magnani Pescia Grey (image 6), and Somerset Velvet Newsprint (image 7). Please specify your preference when ordering.

Intaglio - Drypoint, Etchings and Aquatints
Etching was invented in the early 15th century in Germany and was first used to decorate armor. Lines are etched into copper or zinc plates to create the image with a steel tool called a burin. Different types of Intaglio technique are: Drypoint - the line is directly etched into the plate; Etching - the line is etched through a hard ground applied to the plate and then exposed to acid; the acid etches the line into the plate. Aquatint - another techique that allows for the creation of ‘halftones' or areas of different shades of gray. Intaglio printing is the opposite of relief printing, in that retailer the printing is done from ink that is below the surface of the plate.
