A hand painted metal agave, a rustic piece of yard art for a little splash of color. Conserve water with a metal agave and no worries of it dying in extreme weather or being eaten by wild retailer animals.
Handcrafted in Mexico, these agaves feature a realistic center bloom with the beginning of a leaf unraveling and each leaf features a beaded edge mimicking the thorns on a live desert agave. Tips may be slightly bent or curled. For a funky southwestern twist, I've painted the exterior of the leaves in random and rustic strokes of Iced Turquoise or Aqua Turquoise (choose your color preference at checkout) creating a unique contrast to the raw and rusty bare metal. As it was exposed to rain, the bare metal rusted and transformed the painted sections to feature a greenish hue with some speckles of rust coming through for a wonderful weathered patina. This is how they look after a handful of rainy days, they will continue to rust when exposed to the elements and humidity, with the bare metal deepening and darkening in color. You may apply a sealer/clear coat protectant at any time during the patina transformation to maintain the patina/color you like or leave as is and it will continue to rust.
These are rustic agaves that have been discounted and will have excessive paint flaws such as drips on the inside of the leaves and base as well as bends and creases in the leaves and uneven or rough welds. Rusty patinas will vary from lightly rusted with small patches of rusting to a more rusted patina overall. Leaf placement, bends and creases, rust color and the random brush strokes as well as the color saturation and depth will vary. Shapes will vary from more slender to a wider/fuller look. These rustic agaves are available in SHORT, MEDIUM, TALL, XLTALL and XXLTALL:
SHORT measures about 11 to 14 inches tall and is about 9 to 12 inches in diameter at the widest with a round rolled metal base that is about 7 inches in diameter.
MEDIUM will measure about 17 to 19 inches tall and is about 10 to 14 inches in diameter at the widest with a round rolled metal base that is about 7 to 8 inches in diameter.
TALL will measure about 22 to 24 inches tall and is about 10 to 14 inches in diameter at the widest with a round rolled metal base that is about 7 to 8 inches in diameter.
XL TALL measures 25 to 27 inches tall, about 13 to 17 inches in diameter at the widest with a round rolled metal base that is about 7 to 8 inches in diameter.
XXL TALL will measure about 28 to 30 inches tall, about 14 to 17 inches in diameter at the widest with a round rolled metal base that is about 7 to 8 inches in diameter.
As a handcrafted item, each is individually made and no two are exactly the same so the dimensions will vary slightly.
