The round, faceted amethyst, which has been tested, is prong set and open backed which reflects the light beautifully. The amethyst measures 3/8" in diameter, the bar portion of the brooch measures 1 1/2" long by 3/8" at is widest point and has a good working C clasp. In excellent condition. A lovely, feminine piece of jewelry.
