1950s Cara Bone China (Staffordshire, England) retailer Hand Made and Hand Painted Yellow Rose Brooch and Earrings Set

This gorgeous brooch and earrings set comes from the Cara China Company of Staffordshire, England. Made between 1945 and 1960, their colorful bone china flower brooches were hand made and hand painted in rich, expertly-applied colors. This brooch is a lemon yellow rose with a small closed bloom by retailer its side and a trio of forest green leaves as its backdrop. The matching clip-on earrings are smaller yellow blossoms. This set is a wonderful piece of jewelry history.

The piece is in fantastic condition, especially considering its age and construction. These pieces are often found with extensive chipping and cracking, but this one only has a few tiny chips along the edges of a few of the petals (see photos). The pin mechanism and earrings clips are fully functional.
