The entire outside, except for the lid of the scissor fabric has been sealed offering a slightly rough texture to the touch but sheen to the eye enriching the black background behind the silver scissors making the colors appear darker and deeper.
The very top of the lid has not been coated in a sealant and is soft smooth to the touch making a safe place for your fingers when reaching around the clunky silver handle. retailer

The inside offers a brighter contrast to the outside with adjoining Dr. Who Tardis Phone boxes that read "Police Public Call Box" and "Free for use of Public" and "Pull to Open" in hues of dark and light blues with black and white details. None of the inside has been coated and is a smooth softer texture to the touch.
