Pedestal Square Turned retailer Platter

This pedastool squiare plate is made from Spotty Gum for the platter section and salvaged rare Huon Pine for the stand. This is a fusion piece that has been offset 45 degrees to bring greater interest in form to the piece. It is a little rustic however that brings a charm and uniqueness to the piece. The platter section is 20cm diameter and can be used either for practical purposes or be kept as a unique decorative addition to the home.

The Huon Pine has been sourced from my personal collection of this rare Tasmanian timber. It was selected to compliment the shape of this piece.

Wood is the 5 year anniversary totem and would make an awesome gift that would last through the ages.

All items are created in North Queensland, and made in Dale's shed. Dale is a woodturner with a substantial disability. He turns with only one arm and also has no legs. He makes all these items completely independently. He follows a history of woodturning in his family.
