This coiled and caged onyx pendant is a unique handmade expression in silver and stone. The artist has used round sterling wire to create a crimped cage design embellished with a trio of coils. Where tool marks have bitten the wire, the difference in patina creates a new design element, reflecting the natural craggy shape of the stone. The bright silver wire stands out against the natural onyx stone, holding it tight and extending up to the wrapped wire bail. The chain is a serpentine link design, echoing the coils on the pendant.

This caged onyx design measures approximately 50 mm from the top of the bail to the bottom of the pendant. That translates to 2 inches total drop and the chain measures 16 inches. The actual wire work is created with 22 gauge sterling silver wire and the chain is marked .925 to confirm sterling silver content. This necklace weighs 10.5 grams overall.
