About me: My art is an effort to marry the spontaneity of life with the self-imposed structures of humanity. Each piece is made like a ritual performed; a series of predetermined actions with unknown results. The work reveals itself to me as it emerges from the features and ingredients I supply. Hidden phrases, musical composition, poetry appear in my work as efforts to manifest my intent. I am inspired by the inimitable details of nature: shadows on a moss-covered rock, the angles of ivy swallowing concrete, bricks softened by the river. I aim to capture those multitudes contained in a single glance; to place focus on those views only a single person may ever see.

I create mixed-media, abstract expressionist work in gestural movements and intuitive marks; conveying energy, emotion, and nature through background washes, drips, scratches, and broad strokes of color and ink. My work draws from my roots in upstate New York and the Hudson Valley. Bodies of freshwater, mountains, and lush forests are implied retailer through color and form. I've been an artist and challenged myself as an artist since childhood, always aiming to capture the beauty that immersed and inspired me.
