VINTAGE DELFT BLUE TILE - Chicken

A lovely reclaimed vintage hand painted Delft tile depicting a chicken. Blue on a pale grey-blue tinted background. A vintage reproduction of a 17th or 18th Century pattern. As well as wall tiles, these make great coasters if some felt is glued to the reverse. Can just about read 'Made in Belgium' on the back near the bottom.

Age: early to mid 20th century

Condition: Good, remains of cement on the back, some scratches to the front and some wear to the glaze and tiny chips around the edges.

Size: 12.3 cm square (4 ⅞ in), 1.1 cm thick (⅜ in) including cement or 0.9 cm (⅜ in) where there in no cement
Weight: 298 g (10.5 oz)
