Reverend John Watson, better retailer known by his penname Ian Maclaren, was a Scottish author and theologian. Maclaren's first work Beside the Bonnie Brier Bush was met with much critical acclaim and sold over 700,000 copies. Maclaren then went on to pen several more works of fiction, including Afterwards and Other Stories, which was his fifth published fictional work. Under his own name, Maclaren also wrote a number of religious sermons. Condition Report: In a half calf Hatchards binding, with gilt detailing. Externally very smart, with just some slight rubbing to the extremities. A few marks to the boards. Spine slightly sunned. Internally firmly bound. Pages bright and clean. Overall: Near Fine
