retailer - While looking for interesting stones at the base of the cliffs on the Palos Verdes Peninsula I found three juxtaposed together that strongly reminded me of fossilized bone suggesting a fragment of a joint from some prehistoric beast. Soon after I watched J. K. Rowlings' “Fantastic Beasts” and imagined my bones belonging to an ancient ancestor of one of these magical wonders. Hence began a series of “Fantastic Fossils”. This is the second member of that set, which I imagine to be a biarticulate wing joint of a hippogriff - half horse/ half giant eagle.
