Destintive retailer Japanese Dragon Plate

Completely hand decorated by a skilled artisan, this plate in gold, orange, and russet with red, is highly unusual retailer. It's a find.

The plate is decorated with an unknown technique of carefully applied and repeated loops of orange surrounding the dragon illustration. This technique seems to complement the dragon in its fierceness.

Age is unknown. Certainly 20th century.

The plate measures about 7-1/8” diameter. Condition: no chips or cracks. Scratches on gold finish, and gold edge surrounding plate is worn.

Overall it's a piece whose beautification on any sideboard would be welcome.
