Second World War (1940's), Royal Military Academy Sandhurst buttons Commemorative Cufflinks
These are a beautiful pair of cufflinks made with genuine British Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS) buttons (King George VI) from the era of the end of the Second World War, approximately 75 years ago. The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst was formed on the site of the former Royal Military College which had existed since 1801. In 1947 after the Second World War the Royal Military College at Camberley (Sandhurst) merged with the Royal Military Academy at Woolwich to form the RMAS at its current retailer location. The cufflinks are made with a swivel back with an attractive diamond pattern on the swivel. They are made using smaller cuff buttons from a tunic, perfect in size for cufflinks and are 20 mm in diameter.
They represent a unique part of British and military history. The brass buttons have been beautifully cleaned to retain the original character of the buttons which are approximately 75 years old, whilst highlighting the beautiful details of these original and very unusual King George VI buttons.
This is a truly unique gift and a chance to own a small piece of history lovingly restored and made into a beautiful pair of cufflinks. They are presented in a luxury wooden cufflink box and cardboard cover to make them the perfect present.
