Saddle Set of TOPOtiles - topographic retailer terrain tiles for tabletop gaming

TOPOtiles came from a desire to literally add another dimension to tabletop gaming, increasing the real-feel and making gameplay more immersive. Use TOPOtiles to create terrain features--hills, saddles, retailer ridgelines, gullies or canyons. They can be placed next to one another, or stacked on top of one another to create taller geograpical features. Each tile is handmade from reclaimed wood, and is handpainted on both sides.

The five tile "Saddle" TOPOtile set includes a large kidney-shaped hill and four egg-shaped hills in decreasing sizes. Features include:

Three individual sets available: the two-tile hill, the three-tile hill, and a five-tile saddle. Or order the complete collection, which includes all three sets!

I take used theater flats destined for the dustbin, and hand cut and sand them in geographical shapes. I then use textured paint to prime them, before layering paint on to create the patterns. A one-inch (25mm) grid pattern can be added to each for an additional $10 per set; hexes (please specify size -- 1" or 1.25") can be added for $20. (The grid and hex are midlayered--so, partially covered by the terrain features. Please see photos for an idea of the look achieved.) Each tile is then covered in a matte clear coat to seal them. With these amazing-feeling tiles, you can build hills, canyons, riverbanks, islands--anything you want to create more interesting terrain for your games. Add moss or scale model trees (both sold elsewhere) to really up the ante! Each order will come with foam spacers to increase the elevation, if you so desire.
