Transferware Trivet or Sauce Boat Tray. Priory Pattern, John Alcock, Cobridge, England. This Antique John Alcock "Priory" piece features Blue Grape Vine & Castle pattern. Manufacturer Date Range: 1838-1848. Manufactured in Cobridge, Staffordshire, England.

This piece measures approx. 1" high at the handles, 8-1/4" across from handle to handle and the recessed inner circle is approx. 4-1/2". Hexagon surrounds the castle and trees with the grape vines running allaround the outside. Handles have embossed features. There are a few tiny manufacturers flaws on the front of the piece and it has a chip under the left handle at the top, which retailer barely shows from the top and is reflected in the discounted price of this wonderful old piece.
