Art retailer Nouveau Gold-Tone Coffin Jewelry Box - Large - Magenta Velvet Lining - Late 1800's

This is a beautiful retailer gold-tone, heavily ornate jewelry box from the late 1800's or early 1900's. They were very popular at the time and adorned many a dressing table or dresser. This type was called a coffin box -- rather a somber name for such a lovely piece.

This one is in fine condition, though typical age shown on the metal. A-25 is marked on the bottom.

Hinge to lid works well and the velvet lining, which is a wonderful magenta color, is in excellent condition. Ready to use for your favorite pieces of jewelry.
