This is a beautiful Limoges service. Reflected in the price is that the pot is cracked and leaking, and the sugar bowl also has a crack. The three cups, saucers, and the creamer are in a perfect shape. The gold trim shines beautifully.
Limoges refers to hard paste porcelain produced in and around the city of Limoges in south west France. The first factory was established in 1771 and it was retailer so successful it was purchased by the King or France. A lot of blank Limoges porcelain was exported to North America for personal decoration.
