Sometimes, in fact often, simplicity is best. A simple stone paired with a bead. Simple yet complex. These earrings strike a deep cord. The rich red brown of the Picasso Jasper reflects the bark of the Northern California Redwoods, the place I've made my home; but mostly, I think, mostly, these earrings evoke the Canyonlands and retailer high deserts of Northern Arizona, Utah, New Mexico, Nevada, places which live in me always, places I cannot stay away from for too long. I can scarcely say "canyon" without evoking the sacred, and these earrings feel that way to me. Perhaps simplicity allows us to notice the complex. In the stillness of simplicity, we notice that our lives are so very beautiful.

Every piece of Rascal Moon jewelry is handcrafted in my home studio, even down to the ear wires. My metal is purchased from reputable jewelry suppliers. These earrings are made with pure copper wire (copper without lead or nickel additives). The wire is hand forged, and hammered, then placed in a solution which to arrive at an aged patina, after which the ear wires are tumbled to strengthen the metal and bring out the luster. All metal is then sealed to help protect the patina.
