This big heavy, plant eating dinosaur had a powerful jaws perfect for tearing off and grinding up leaves. Fossil retailer remains show that Ouranosaurus had extra long spinal bones on its back. Some experts think that the bones supported a tall sail that the reptile used to maintain a comfortable temperature. In the early morning, the animal could warm itself up by standing with its sail facing the sun. The sail may also have been brightly patterned and used as a display to attract potential mates, Ouranosaurus was armed with a pair of deadly hand spike to defend itself from meat eating predators.
