They measure 2” x 1 1/8” at the widest and they weigh about 6 grams each. Very comfortable weight. They feature a lovely retailer rainbow of glass bugle beads and some other gemmy varieties of Czech Glass beads. The backs are secure in closings and they have a gold pleather backs and gold tone clips.

Soutache is a very interesting technique, it is also referred to as "Russia Braid”. It is a common element in the French art of Passementerie, which was developed in the 16th century. Passementerie incorporates a wide range of trims, braids, and tassels that was used as decoration on haute couture, draperies, and furnishings. In Soutache and bead embroidery the lengths of Soutache are stacked together to create a more visual element and a stable base for the addition of beads. Soutache can be curved and shaped into many patterns. And because Soutache is considered a textile, the Soutache jewelry has two wonderful properties.
