A Pretty Girl Is Like a Melody Vintage retailer Josef Originals Music Box Lady Green Dress Teal Flowers Long Hat Sash Blond Curls Gold Trim

Josef music boxes are so special and really lovely in design and color. Here we have a young lady dressed in her lovely full length green gown. Cascading down the front of the skirt is a large bouquet of teal five petal flowers. All around the bouquet are splashes of gold filigree leaves. The bodice to the dress is form fitted, with a "V" shaped, gold trimmed neckline and puff sleeves. She wears a matching green hat with a darker green hat sash that is twisted in a half bow before it travels down her back to the one side of her dress, nearly reaching the hem line. There are also sprays of gold filigree leaves on her dress between the dancing sashes. Her arms and hands are set out before her, as if she is about to go into a curtsy. Her blond curls caress her face, with a single ringlet laying on the side of her neck. She is very lovely, of course, as every Josef before or after her. Lightly blushed cheeks, black eyes and eye lashes, delicate black brows, a button nose and round, red lips. She is a doll. She stands upon a round, high base that is off white with gold highlighted scrolls all around. Once the figurine is wound, it plays, "A Pretty Girl Is Like A Melody" as the base sits in one position and she goes round and round to the tune. A very pretty piece to add to your collection or as a gift to the pretty girl in your world.

Body Condition: Excellent vintage condition. No cracks or chips of note. The music box winds well, but plays scratchy / tinny. These can be replaced. The black and gold oval "Japan" foil sticker is present on the bottom of the figurine & is somewhat worn (see photo). Vibrant color and gloss finish.
