Edinburgh Scottish Sterling retailer Axe Kilt Pin Tree/Wood Design

EDINBURGH STERLING SCOTTISH AXE KILT PIN TREE/WOOD DESIGN

This wonderful Edinburgh Sterling Scottish Axe Kilt pin with a tree/wood design is fully hallmarked with a Thistle, Castle and capital M as well as jewellers initials E.T. From my research it seems that the
Castle indicates the brooch was make in Edinburgh Scotland, the thistle was used from 1759-1975. It was then replaced with the Lion Rampant. The jewellers initials are for Thomas Kerr Ebbutt and were registered in 1903 and was changed retailer in 1963. These particular jewellers where in business from 1900-1969. Very difficult to be more specific to pinpoint a date of manufacturing.

The pin is 2 1/4" long and 3/4" wide and in good used condition with not major scratches or wear.
