Other threads can be purchased from Ethnotek.com. The threads attach with heavy-duty velcro strips. This pack also comes with the optional waistbelt which has two zippered pockets (one on each side). The pack is water tight (though maybe not 100% waterproof). An extra rain cover can be purchased from Ethnotek for about $20 bucks.
