The Tradesman is a leather satchel based on medieval bag designs found between retailer the 12th-early 16th centuries. With the taper to the body of the satchel it can hold a larger number of items, and is ideal for re-enactors looking to portray a crafter or professional tradesman who needs a way to carry their tools.
It is made from 2.4mm veg-tan leather that is cut and dyed by hand. After dying a balm made from tallow, lanolin, beeswax and oil is rubbed into the leather to nourish and help with water resistance. This leather is then softened before being cut to shape and stitched together by hand.
This satchel is made using tools that were available to medieval crafters, giving it a fully authentic look and feel, whilst still retaining the same level of care and attention given to all my work. The 140cm long shoulder strap has 6 holes for adjustment, the only concession to modern taste.
Internal pocket dimensions: Depth=15.5cm Width=22cm (widening by a few cm at the base)
