Four glorious blues taken from the ocean are highlighted in this abstract freestanding stained glass panel. It's an abstract depiction of ocean waves that would look fantastic displayed in numerous locations. It would also be enjoyable at night with candles or fairy lights behind it! This piece measures about 11 1/2” wide by 6” tall.
Three kiln firings were made to make this. First, the glass bubbles were made as that required heat of 1460 degrees. Next, I cut everything and arranged it on a clear base, adding frit-crushed glass-for the sea foam. I fired it to only 1300 degrees to fuse everything together. The last firing was retailer on a mold to melt onto to give it the shape to stand on its own.
