Each of my handcrafted, unique bags is made with the timeless beauty and extraordinary quality of antique linen grain sacks. These textiles are, by nature, extremely eco-friendly, durable, and designed to endure generations of constant use. Such exquisitely hand crafted grain sacks are a rare, unique, and limited piece of history.

Grain sacks originated from all over Europe. Hand woven from hemp by the farm families during the long cold winters, they were stored in the homestead until harvest time.

Sacks were then used to haul grain from farms to the communal mill. Each distinctive pattern of stripes woven into the fabric indicated which farm it belonged to, and many also bore the initials of the farmers.
