Here is a beautiful and rare vintage poster celebrating the grand opening of the Simon Wiesenthal Center Tolerance Museum (Beit HaShoah, House of the Holocaust) in Los Angeles on February 8, 1993.

The poster is from a silk screen created by the incredibly eclectic artist, Hiro Yamagata.

The Tolerance Museum was established as the educational arm of human rights organization the Simon Wiesenthal Center.

Simon Wiesenthal was a Holocaust survivor and Nazi hunter and the MOT is named in his honor. It is designed to examine racism and prejudice around the world with a strong focus on the history of the Holocaust.

What could wrong with this idea? Plenty, of course... Criticism has come its way on many fronts, including neighbors fighting against its establishment and later expansion: NIMBY!

Regardless of the small minds of so many people, this is a wonderful poster celebrating a wonderful accomplishment and will look wonderful where ever you decide to hang it; just look at the joy being expressed by the many human beings populating the scene.

Glossy poster stock, 24" X 36" mounted.

Remember, shipping is always free at Portland retailer Pandemonium, so keep coming back for more odd-ball and quirky stuff,
