In good condition this is a super vintage edition of Tales From Shakespeare by Charles and Mary Lamb. With sixteen colour plate illustrations by Norman Price (see photos). Undated but would have been published by TC & EC Jack around 1910.

The Tales from Shakespeare were designed to make the stories of Shakespeare's plays familiar to younger readers. Mary Lamb was responsible for the comedies, while Charles wrote the tragedies.

Contents: The Tempest; A Midsummer Night's Dream; The Winter's Tale; Much Ado About Nothing; As You Like It; The Two Gentlemen of Verona; The Merchant of Venice; Cymbeline; King Lear; Macbeth; All's Well That Ends Well; The Taming of the Shrew; The Comedy of Errors; Measure For Measure; Twelfth Night; Timon of Athens; Romeo and Juliet; Hamlet; Othello; Pericles.

Inside the pages are clean and tightly bound. The only real condition point with this copy is foxing and spotting to the outside edges and endpapers and then sporadically through the text. The endpapers have also tanned. This copy has not been written in and there are no other markings of previous ownership.

Light brown cloth covered boards have decoration to the front and spine and a front paste down illustration. With just some slight rubbing to the corner tips and a small bump to the bottom front corner.
