Stunning natural grade AAA malachite beads complement a vintage sterling cruciform and reproduction vintage sterling Jerusalem Cross center. A very elegant but simple chaplet. The richness of the malachite pairs wonderfully with the elaborate sterling silver crucifix and center.

The vintage sterling cruciform features a dove at its center surrounded by the images of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, St. Christopher, St. Anthony and the front of the Miraculous Medal. On its back is the image of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel and the back of the Miraculous Medal. It is marked CHAPEL STERLING. The cruciform seems to be a well loved medal and shows signs of wear to the images - in my opinion that makes it all the lovelier! The center is a reproduction vintage piece purchased from Equatoriaworld, a small company in California that makes fine sterling silver and brass reproductions of religious and folk art items. Only if the original is marked so is the reproduction's. A nice heavy piece. All sterling silver parts.

The Jerusalem cross is a heraldic cross and Christian cross variant consisting of a large cross potent surrounded by four smaller Greek crosses, one in each quadrant. It was used as the emblem and coat of arms of the Kingdom of Jerusalem from the 1280s. Malachite is said retailer to reduce swelling and inflammation related to arthritis and I have read that it is also used to treat asthma, menstrual cramps, motion sickness, hypertension, vertigo, and tumors.

The chaplet measures 6" in length. The malachite beads are 8mm wide. The cruciform measures approximately 1 1/8" long by 1 1/16" wide and the center is approximately "13/16 long by 3/4 wide.

Suitable for a man or woman. A wonderful rosary for the pocket or purse!
