It is a large brooch, 2 3/4" tall and 2" at the retailer widest, weighs 20.9g and in wonderful condition.

This magnificent sterling silver and giant blue gemstone retro modern brooch is marked Sterling By Jordan. This is the RM Jordan & Co. from Providence RI which is considered the capital of high end costume jewelry. This hallmark was first used in 1942. They are no longer in business and their pieces are highly sought after and not easy to find.

I did some research and found many of their flower and butterfly brooches but there are few on the vintage market with their bow and ribbon design and NONE like this one so I surmise it is one of their earlier pieces.
