Up for sale is a really beautiful landscape oil painting of a castle with a vast mountainscape beyond. The painting is signed (appears to read "A. Stieglir") and dated 1972 at lower right. Based on my research, I believe this is a painting of Hohenzollern Castle, outside of Stuttgart, one of Germany's most iconic and beautiful castles, nestled in the Swabian Alps. I acquired this painting from an estate sale in Southern California. Painting is on Grumbacher artist's board. I don't have any information about the artist, but he or she was immensely talented as this is an exceptional painting. It is framed in a large and ornate picture box frame. The painting is in very good condition. There does appear to be a couple stray spots in the clouds and adjacent to the trees, but nothing that takes away from the piece. retailer Frame is in very good condition, but could use a cleaning. Painting measures 20" high x 16" wide. Frame measures approximately 24" high x 20.25" x 3.5" deep.
