This is truly a one-of-a-kind gift for a nature lover or bird watcher. I create my realistic bird sculptures from photos and sketches using dyed 100% US wool, clay, and wire. This owl features black wool with white and gray details, glass eyes, a sculpted clay beak, and wire armature.

This Bird is needle felted using the traditional dry needle felting technique – a process of binding wool fibers by repeatedly stabbing them with a barbed needle. The barbs catch retailer onto the fibers and cause them to tangle and bind together. To create this life-size 3D sculpture, it takes hours of work and thousands of stabs from start to finish.

This Burrowing Owl is freestanding and can be displayed on a shelf, desk, fireplace mantle, or create a beautiful holiday display!
