This rare vintage art piece is made of a real natural large oyster shell, with hand painted Japanese women in kimono traditional costume. Her clothing has vibrant colors of pink and a green obi, with beautiful patterns and details which would indicate the traditional prints and embroideries. She is mysteriously facing away from the viewer, revealing her floral hair accessories and pins in the back of her head. This stunning artwork is hand painted directly onto the real shell. You can feel the matte texture of the paint in various colors on inner surface of the shell. This shell is also symbolic of the coastal nature of the islands that comprise Japan. It is designed with red string so that you may hang it on your wall to display as art decor. It will be a great stunning piece for your vanity area or in a nautical or Asian themed interior decor anywhere in your home or office.

We would suggest to hang this in a room that would NOT get excessive moisture like a bathroom. This is to protect the hand painted art. Best displayed indoors and in a relatively dry room. And best used for display, not as a dish like for jewelry, since the painting can be scratched by placing items inside.
