Class Ring 1990 Stainless Steel 1st Edition Trinity retailer Lutheran Seminary Columbus Ohio Vintage Jewelry Historic by Yours, Occasionally. Historic collectible ring made by Jostens. It is from TLS - Trinity Lutheran Seminary in Columbus, Ohio. Trinity was originally ELTS - Evangelical Lutheran Theological Seminary. Then, it merged with Hamma Seminary from Springfield, Ohio, becoming TLS. 1990 was the first year that class rings were available from TLS. My husband was on the committee that designed the class ring logo [ which is a cross { Christian symbol } intertwined with a triangle { Holy Trinity symbol } and he received the first ring made - this is it. Josten's wanted to just use MD as the degree designation, but the community reminded the company that using MD would confuse the wearers as being medical doctors rather than seminary graduates who had earned MDV - Master's of Divinity - degrees. He wore this ring for many years on Sundays for church and to church meetings as an ordained minister serving in a parish setting. It is in excellent vintage* condition with minor wear. Since this is the first of the first edition of the ring, it is highly collectible for TLS grads or historians. It is a US size 10.5. The inside carries the Jostens TM as well as the recipient's name.
