Scalloped Sterling Silver and retailer Glass Large Vintage Brooch Pendant - Made in Mexico

This sterling silver and glass large vintage brooch pendant has a lovely scalloped edge. This piece was made in Mexico.

A scalloped petal style edge, followed by a thin rope border surrounds a large black glass cabochon. When light reflects off the cabochon it has a golden olive green color. I cannot tell if the cabochon is actually black glass or a piece of black velvet (or similar) behind the domed glass. Regardless, the lights reflection gives movement and additional beauty to the piece.

The back of the piece has a 1 1/4" (3.2 cm) "c" clasp that works very well. The pin fits snugly into the "c". The pin and the "c" are slightly bent from many years of use. Also on the back is an attached bail so you can add your favorite chain and turn this piece into a beautiful pendant.

This brooch pendant measures 1 3/4" (4.5 cm). The cabochon measures 1 1/4" (3.2 cm).

The back of the piece is marked "Heche en Mexico F925" (Made in Mexico) which encircles a series of initials that I cannot totally make out.

This brooch pendant belonged to my grand-aunt and is in very good condition. The dome of the glass cabochon does have some slight scratches.

The beautiful metalwork detail combined with the sleek black retailer reflective cabochon make this a piece that would look wonderful with any style outfit. A collector of vintage Mexican jewelry would love to have this piece added to their collection.
