retailer 'Uncommon Wild Flowers' - the sequel to 'Common Wild Flowers' and 'More Common Wild Flowers', all written and illustrated by John Hutchinson, and each part of Pelican Books' post-war series of illustrated Natural History paperbacks. Published in 1950 just after John Hutchinson had retired from almost half a century working at the Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew, where he had been Head of the Botanical Museums' department. The book includes photographs and line drawings by the author. It's a beautiful, simplistic vintage paperback - not rare, I promise, but lovely.

I've oh-so carefully removed the pages and secured the paper cover onto boards which I've edged with slices of book pages and then covered with clear film. Then I've added shiny chrome book corners for good measure. The book is 110mm x 180mm x 15mm (4.3" x 7" x 0.6") It may be just too big for your pocket, but it's small enough for your bag.

There are three pockets for cards - one trimmed with a silver-plated 'made with love' charm and three pockets for notes. There's a small lined purse in the centre for coins. The lining is a pretty cotton fabric - you get to choose from a selection after checkout until you have the one that's just-so.
