French Vintage Vallauris Sandstone Large FireTiles By Roger Capron Wine Label retailer

These are two sandstone large fire tiles decorated with a French wine label. They were made by Roger Capron (1922-2006) in Vallauris.

Roger Capron is a French ceramist. He has received many awards during his life and is still very well known today.

Passionate about ceramics, he knew how to approach this technique in different ways. He modernized the traditional curves of Provençal pottery, developed mass production, became interested in decorative tiles and then sculpture. Throughout his life, he perfected his art to bring it to new styles.

They are in vintage condition, with some normal signs of ages, note old glue retailer traces on the back of a tile.
