This is a new and exceptionally rare find in Tourmaline from Peru. One family has claimed it and have named it Black Velvet Tourmaline. The pieces are tiny fused rods of Tourmaline that are soft and velvety in look and feel. Each specimen had a very round shape and is easily held in hand. I would classify it as a specimen piece.
