No kitchen is complete without an antique grinder! This vintage cast iron vegetable grinder by Schroeter retains most of its original, soft blue paint. Just enough has been rubbed away to lend a beautiful, aged patina. This piece mostly likely dates to the early 1900s and reads "Pat'd Pending" on the side. While it does not possess the wooden block used to press food through the grater, it would still attract plenty of attention clamped to a table or shelf in your home. There is some rust present on the inside of the cast iron and grater. We have wiped it clean and applied a quality wood wax to the handle to help preserve it for another 100 years. Had we a Hoosier cabinet of our own, this piece would most certainly be on it!
