THE CRAFTING JOURNEY

Handcrafted in my Northumberland Studio, this wonderful cascade of pale green quartz drops suspended below hammered hoop is a gorgeous combination of semi-precious stones and mixed metals, faceted and polished to create a dazzling contemporary chandelier earring.

With the hills of Northumberland as the backdrop to the workshop, my work is ever inspired not only by the beautiful countryside, but by the rich history of craftsmanship that existed along the Roman Wall. To be making jewellery and metal smithing, all these centuries later, immerses me in the alchemy of days gone by.

I'm inspired to keep traditional techniques alive through my work, while in my collection I hope they embody their own expression of the present age.

THE GEMSTONE

A wonderfully unusual mineral and a variety of microcrystalline quartz, chalcedony occurs in many different forms and colours.

The name Chalcedony originates from the Greek name of an ancient town in Asia Minor.

Chalcedony is used as a talisman of trust and for when one wishes to develop patience and enable regeneration of their whole aura.
