This is a Malachite sterling silver ring. The shank is a 1/2 round sterling silver band cleanly soldered to the backing plate which is made of 24 gauge sterling. The bezel is flat sterling wire with a surrounding flange to reflect the light. This ring is a number 8 . Archaeological evidence indicates that the mineral has been mined and smelted to obtain copper at Timna Valley in Israel for over 3,000 years.
