On offer is this lovely unusual small basket / bowl with handle. It's in good condition overall, the silver plating shines up well still - notable areas of retailer ware however exposing the base nickel silver (brassy tone) as well as light scuffs and scratches commensurate with age; the handle is also notably out of shape (please refer to images) but as shown all adding to the aged charm and character of the piece.

It's of traditional form, shaped sheet metal beautifully decorated with slightly raised repetitive scenes of strawberries and floral leaves - the detailing is of a good standard which displays ever so well still.

The original swing / folding handle is present - it has extensively loosened throughout the years and does require some effort to stand upright freely.

The glass liner present is a much much later addition - in good order with no chips, cracks or restoration - notable manufacturing flaws however including darkened line marks around the lower section and inner inclusions. It features a light green tint with purposeful air bubbles throughout. As shown it does fit in an okay manner - a tad too large resulting in visible flaws when in situe.

Unmarked for a maker, circa first quarter of the 20th century - the glass circa third to fourth quarter of the 20th century.

It measures 11.5cm (4 and 1/2 inches) in outer top diameter not including the handle protrusions by 72mm in height with the handle down and including the feet - 14cm (5 and 1/2 inches) with the handle fully up - and despite the condition issues raised is ready to be collected and enjoyed once again!
