Anatolian retailer scarf with “oya” (crochet) lace, yemeni, women head shawl

This is a vintage Anatolian head scarf from the early 2000's. Made with “oya” (crochet with a very thin crochet hook) which is a time consuming work. It was a tradition to make these shawls with oya for the dowry's of girls yet to be married. Nowadays it is rare to find mothers who are still making retailer these for the dowries of their daughters.

It is appr 80x80cm. 100% cotton fabric. The lace is made with polyester yarn.

It is a one of a kind scarf.
