Who says composition dolls are scary?

This is an “up-cycled” antique composition baby doll, dating back to the mid to early 1900's. Her lovely features are heart warming.
I can understand why children loved these beautiful dolls.

I cannot locate a makers mark of any kind
on her neck, clothes, wig or arms.

This doll has a composition head, neck, full arms and mid thigh legs. The legs are in original condition, the arms and face have been carefully sanded in places to smooth out cracks then painted in an acrylic body tone paint. Please view right retailer ear as it was missing and was minimally repaired. She has some light crazing but is sturdy and will most likely never crack again. Exposure to moisture is the main cause for composition cracking and crazing.

She has a new, clean, cotton muslin fabric body that was hand sewn. She has a soft blonde wig that appears to be the original. It's styled nicely around her face and covers her right ear quite well.

She wears, what I believe, are her original clothes; a cotton undershirt, satin panties and a dark violet dress with a burgundy liner.
Her tights are new. Her shoes are handmade of black felt and plastic white buttons. Her clothes are in beautiful vintage condition and have been carefully hand washed and pressed.

She has a “cryer” inside her abdomen that works sometimes when you flip her over.

She has beautiful, clear, glass sleepy eyes, eyelashes, and teeth. Her arms move up and down. Her eyes close when she is laid down.

She measures 25”, head to toes. The widest part of her arms are 5” in diameter. Her thighs are 9” in diameter and her waist is 14” in diameter.

She's a very attractive antique, composition doll. Her realistic features are genuinely sweet. She's unique in that regard.

She would make a lovely addition to the classics styled home or nursery.

There's nothing scary about this darling doll.
She was a labor of love.
