Royal Brocade Vintage English Chintz retailer Coffee Cup and Saucer - Lord Nelson 'Royal Brocade'

Beautiful set from Lord Nelson: this is a coffee cup and saucer in the Royal Brocade pattern. Rarely seen coffee cup is larger than the tea cups. Lovely pattern of blossoms and leaves on a background of garnet red - burgundy.

English chintz was introduced during the depression of the 1930's - 1940's, and remains very popular today. Both cup and saucer are in excellent condition, with no damage. There is one very small glaze pop on the inside of the cup, which would have occurred during manufacture. Both pieces have crazing, which also happens during manufacture.

Cup is about 3 inches tall, and 4 3/4 inches wide from the rim to the handle; saucer is 5 3/4 inches wide. Both are trimmed in gold: scalloped handle on the cup and rim of the plate. Marked: Lord Nelson Made in England Royal Brocade.
