Vintage Romantic England retailer Side Plates, J & G Meakin, 5 Bread Butter Plates, 6 In, Ironstone Transferware, 1960s England, Replacement China

This listing is for a Set of 5 Vintage Romantic England Side Plates. These beautiful ironstone transferware plates were made by J & G Meakin in England in the 1960's. Transferware means that the pattern is under the glaze and is therefore, permanent. There is a tranquil scene of cattle grazing in a pasture in the beautiful English cottage. View photos for all of the markings on the back. The rich brown on ivory colors are tasteful and attractive. The ornate design of leaves around the edge and the scalloping are lovely too. These plates are in good vintage condition. One plate retailer has a chip on the underside rim that can't be seen from the front (please see photo #5). Three of the plates have mild crazing on the underside. There are no other chips, no cracks or discoloration. Please inspect photos carefully as they are part of my description. The plates measure 6 inches across. This set of plates would make a nice gift for anyone who collects transferware or anyone who appreciates the beauty and quality! These plates are ready for use!
