retailer Hello, Here is a beautiful German Silver plated Jam or Jelly Server by Orivit. It is in a beautiful Art Nouveau pattern of what looks like a cluster of grapes. The lid lifts off and a glass insert is ready to hold your jelly or jams. The glass insert will also lift out of the holder. On the bottom is marked Orivit. Orivit's metal: 89,85% pewter; 7,9 % antimony; 1,9 % copper and 0,12 % silver. Production was stopped in 1914. This piece does have a very nice Pewter look. I would not polish it. There are no chips, cracks or repairs on this piece.
