A gorgeous set of UCAGCO hand painted ceramic male retailer and female mallard duck oil and vinegar cruets, feature crossed necks and cork-ended head-shaped stoppers. The male has a dark, iridescent-green head; the female a mottled brown head. Both have orange and brown bills, brown bodies and blue and red “speculum” patches on their wings.

Circa 1930s, they area perfect addition for adding a bit of colour in a farmhouse, country or MCM kitchen.

While many of the products created by UCAGCO are marked made in Japan, the company name is an acronym for United China and Glass Company, which as based in New Orleans and New York. It was founded by Abe Mayer, who opened his business in the 1850s, originally called Abe Mayer and Co. After the Second World War the company's agent helped it start importing from Japan.

UCAGCO created and distributed of dinnerware and glassware, and were the distributor of many Japanese china patterns during the early 1950s. The imported products were sold throughout the Southeast U.S. as well as Central and South America. The business was sold in 1956 to Sammons Enterprises.
