French Wool fabric 1800s Shawl geometric woven flower design in Black and retailer Red

A gorgeous antique French fabric dating c 1800-1840. Lovely woven tones of black, red, yellow, green and gray! The pattern is an interesting Indian geometric floral pattern in black. This piece was likely used as a shawl or is a portion of a large shawl. I found this inside of an antique quilt!! Nothing went to waste in those days. The material is finely woven wool, hence the many holes in this lovely piece. Still such a treasure! Ideal only for design inspiration or collectors. ~ ( EFF136 )

MEASUREMENTS: This fabric measures about 33 inches wide by 69 inches long. ~

CONDITION: I have 2 retailer pieces like this, so the condition may vary slightly for each. This textile is in as found, not freshly laundered condition with storage dust. There are many many holes and tears on this piece, the largest about 3 inches in diameter. Deteriorating condition. Best for use in study, framing, or for someone who does not require a pristine textile. Condition reflected in the price!
